The sequence below is the corporate operating model for custom engagements. The exact milestones, approvals, and commercial terms come from the accepted project documents—not from a generic website promise.
Discovery
For scoped work, we clarify goals, audience, deliverables, production or technical needs, available assets, dependencies, decisions, and responsibilities.
Scope
Before project work begins where applicable, the accepted documents define deliverables, exclusions, milestones, payment structure, revision boundaries, approvals, customer duties, and handoff requirements.
Build or production
The engagement enters the appropriate publishing-production or design-and-development workflow with visible phases and agreed review points.
Review & approval
The customer reviews the agreed work, provides consolidated feedback, and records approvals or acceptance. Major work outside scope may require an amendment or new scope.
Delivery or launch
Depending on the engagement, production files may be delivered, a site may be deployed, systems may be handed off, or scoped launch support may occur. No project automatically includes every form of delivery.
Ongoing relationship
Future publishing work, maintenance, hosting, retainers, support, or new development continue only when included in the active agreement or separately purchased and accepted.

Work may move through readiness review, manuscript and asset intake, format decisions, design or refinement, proof review, metadata preparation, approvals, and agreed delivery or retailer setup assistance.
Account to published author presence
Author Studio is self-service software. Account setup, trial, plan selection, configuration, publishing, billing, and support occur through the platform rather than a custom project proposal.
Brief to deployed digital system
Work may move through strategy, information architecture, UX/UI, responsive design, development, integrations, content entry, testing, deployment, and a defined handoff.

- 04Configure the author profile and public presence.
- 05Build the book catalog and supported audience tools.
- 06Publish and use the features available to the account.
- 07Manage the subscription through authenticated billing tools and current platform policies.
Current production behavior: the Professional trial lasts 14 days, requires no payment method, and does not convert automatically. Paid access begins only after the customer intentionally selects a plan and completes checkout.
After delivery
Continuity depends on the service.
Future production or support requires an applicable continuing agreement, amendment, or new scope.
Platform access continues according to trial eligibility, subscription status, account standing, and current SaaS policies.
Hosting, maintenance, monitoring, support, retainers, and future development continue only when expressly included or separately agreed.
